Sims 4 Closing + Time Freezing

Since the latest update, I've been dealing with two major issues, both of which occur with and without my Mods folder installed and updated and the game being repaired. 

The first issue is on one save where my sim's infant son can't age up into a toddler. Every time he tries, the game pauses, the sim face icons below disappear, and the game suddenly closes out to the EA App. 

The second issue is that on three separate saves (every one I've tried since the update), time will randomly freeze but the animations continue. If I try to speed up the time, it'll jump ahead, but as soon as I slow down or pause, time jumps back. I also cannot switch between sims or change anything in the lower right panel. I will note, two of these families have babies, one has toddlers.

Again, these have both happened with and without my mods folder, so I'm suspecting it's an issue with the game itself? I was just wondering if anyone else is having either of these issues. Thank you!
