Sims 4 Crashing/Infinite loading screens

hi! I've been playing the sims 4 for awhile now with no issues, occasional lag occurs sometimes as I use a bunch of mods, but usually it's all fine. After purchasing lovestruck and updating my game to the most recent version though (I updated all of my mods to note), with mods enabled, my game is extremely laggy and crashes really badly. Infinite loading screens appear all the time. I took out all of my mods and it ended up running better, but there's no issue. I added back my CAS custom content and my mods, and it started crashing again. Problem being - there's nothing wrong with ANYTHING. I've ran my files through multiple conflict detectors, I sent all my mc.exceptions files to the rightful servers for examinations and nothing came out incorrect. There's no issue with my mods. I'm wondering if my game simply has gotten too filled up on space and has had enough of content being added to it? I really don't know what's going on but I am convinced it has something to do with my computer and game itself rather than the mods folder. Can someone help me out?

[ FYI, again, I have updated ALL of my mods . I know they're functional on their own! ]

  • @LOKIMELON Conflict detectors detect very, very few issues. There's info on that in How to Use Mods and CC

    1. Start at Broken/Updated Mods & CC and remove known broken mods. Don't skip the "previously broken" list. Go right down to the end of that.
    2. Check Broken/Updated Mods & CC and the previous list for 1.108 to make sure you've caught more updates.
    3. Now put what's updated and what's cleared for patch 1.109 in a separate folder, except for mods that other mods depend on, like XML Injector and Core Library.
    4. Test the rest using the 50-50 method. Note that you need to make sure mod installations are completely together, as many mods need multiple parts

Okay, so, after some struggle I've finally done everything (taking out mods, cc, doing the 50/50 method, etc). For reference, these issues started occurring after purchasing the lovestruck pack and updating my game to the most recent version. I've updated all of the mods, taken them out, and I decided to test out if it was save file related because the issues KEPT occurring even after removing all of my mods (I have no idea what's wrong with my game at this rate)

I suspect I have two corrupted save files, because they both crash my game and cause infinite loading screens consistently while when I create a new save file, everything's fine. My mods work, my CC functions properly, I can go through several loading screens normally and not immediately crash after moving to a different lot.

@LOKIMELON Is there a specific point for those saves where they crash/fail to load? That can help determine what about them broke and if it's recoverable.

Basically, every time I exit into manage worlds, edit a lot and then try to go back into manage worlds it manages to break. Every time I try to make my sims travel outside of their home lot as well it tends to cause an infinite loading screen or crash immediately.

@LOKIMELON I'm going to move you over to Game Issues. There's a pinned topic there for non-mod-related crashing that might be a start point for you.

    @LOKIMELON

Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

Best is to delete the ones you have, then trigger the error and check if new ones are created.

If that is the case, please upload them to a new post in this thread.

Please either create a .rar file to upload or copy/paste the content into your post.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Uploading the file is meant for troubleshooting.
  • Nope. I've only gotten two, which were very quickly checked bythe MCCC server and they were completely unrelated to the crashing unfortunately. There's no last exception file that explains my issues

@LOKIMELON You say that you have two saves that crash and new ones are fine. How big are those saves ?
