Sims 4 literally will not open

Hi, To begin, I currently have an updated copy of the sims 4 (obtained from the epic games store). The problem lies in the fact that I cannot open my game and I have not been able to for at least 2 weeks. I have tried everything from cache deletion, repairing both the game and the app, isolating my mods, and reinstalling the game but nothing works. I only get a continual error message that says there was an error on the ea app's end and I should try again later. The only time I can get it to open is if I go to documents in my computer and take the sims 4 file out of the electronic arts folder but that wipes all of my saves and my entire gallery - Weirdly, It still shows me things I've uploaded but my private personal section is wiped back to the default. 

If anyone could help, It would be greatly appreciated.
