After updating my game it will no longer load in to play. I can get to the screen that says resume game, but it does not actually load in. I’ve removed mods, repaired the game, and removed cache in multiple different attempts. I am extremely annoyed as for me this seems to happen every time they update the game. I just want to play the game, but I can’t get in.
Yes it does work on a new save so does this mean that I will never get that save back

Usually if no household loads it's a Sim/Household bugging up the save game (for whatever reason) and it's a bit tedious to find the culprit.

I deleted the last exception files and ran the game again. No new ones showed up. When I hit load instead of resume it loads into the game, but once I pick a household to play it does not load that.

Do you have any LastException/LastCrash files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?
Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.
Also does a new save game work ? Can you load any household if you use load instead of resume ?
