Sims not staying dead

My sim was dying of embarrassment and i saved it. When the grim reaper showed up, he took his sweet time reaping my sims, about 5 sim hours. Then when my sim was finally reaped, his family considered him dead and got the sad buffs, but in the family tree he wasn't dead. I then checked the relationship tab and he was still alive, and my sim even had the option to invite him over. they did and my "dead" sim was alive and well. I did have the MCC mod installed, but everything was working fine before the December update; like people were dying properly. So after the EA  update my MCC shouldn't have been the cause because according to deaderpool the new update didn't effect his latest November 27th MCC patch which I had. Even still I took out the mod and the issue still persisted. Does anyone know what to do? Or is it just a bad save file?

  • I have experienced this exact same problem with multiple sims.

I have found that if they die from an emotional reason (i.e. embarrassment, anger, playful), then the reaper will come, collect the soul, leave the urn/gravestone, and then the sim will be alive and well as an NPC "townie".

I also noted that one of my sims that the happened to was invited over to my sim's house.  When conversing with the alive/dead sim, when looking at the description and relationship between the two, it said that the (now) NPC sim was my (current) sim's "deceased wife".

Dying of old age does not appear to cause the problem, and I have not seen it happen with any other types of death (i.e. temperature).

I use MCCC, but have tried it without MCCC, and the problem remains.
