Something in my kitchen is stoping my sims from cooking!

I have the basic appliances in my sims kitchen but no matter what they wont cook I’ve tried moving the kitchen trying different appliances but my sims get the food out of the fridge and then they stop and say the can’t get to where they need to continue cooking I think it has something to do with the oven but I’m not sure as I try to cook food that doesn’t require the oven and it still happens. This is happening on console addition and restarting the game helps for a few minutes but then it happens again.
