Suggestion: Pets and Witches

Hi folks!

Sorry posting it here in case this is not the right place to do it. First and foremost, a constructive critic: your forums are TOO MUCH complicated. I was just looking for a suggestion Forum for The Sims 4, and all I could find was a pile of weirdly organized topics. I suppose there are hidden sections for bugs, suggestions, general discussion, etc, but I could find none. This is my first time here, and I am completely lost. So, first request: try a more traditional - and accessible - approach: go from filter to filter, progressively, allowing us to select a game, then see the forum and the sections, and than post something.

Well, the main subject on this post is to suggest two MAJOR contents I really miss from The Sims 3: Witches and Pets. I'm not sure if this fits into Stuff Packs, Game Packs or if this have enough content to become Game Expansions, but I'd really like to have something to become Wizard / Witches (no need of zombies or werewolves, at least not for me) and to have my dogs, cats, mice (we already have them at City Living expansion, but they would be official pets) and hamsters, and other minor pets, like ant farms, fish tanks and tropical birds or exotic ones, like frogs, snakes, turtles, salamanders, ferrets, etc (I do not care about horses, lol).

For the Pets expansion, we could create a variety of races of dogs and cats, we would customize mice colors and dogs and cats breeds and colors (great work done in The Sims 3, please bring them back). As you did previously, these pets would be playable characters, would be able to mate and we would have a whole selection of items for them - we could even have a Pet Shop selection of items, a Pet Shop lot to visit and, for the ones who own the Get to Work expansion, we could be able to open and run our own Pet Shop, selling items for pets and even selling animals, like puppies, kittens, fishes, etc - which we could just order into our stocks or breed ourselves.

For the Witches / Wizards expansion, we could me able to plant (gardening) magical plants, like Mandrakes, Nightshades, and so on, so we could concoct potion using a cauldron (hmm new Sim skill ahoy, lol). We would drink these potions or throw on another sims, just like it was in The Sims 3. We could also have wands to cast spells (another skill which, in case it goes wrong, could affect our own sims negatively). We could also deal with Ghost Sims with these spells. We could have also an Enchanted Broom (hard to craft using a cauldron, then a special potion, then a Wand spell cast during the night, for instance), which would resemble the magic brooms from Walt Disney Fantasia (Mickey's Sorcerer Apprentice). These brooms would act like the old "Servo" from previous The Sims game, cleaning and fixing things... but as I said this would be a hard to come by solution, not to banalize the usual ways of the game, acting more like a prize.

We could even have a cross between these two Pack, Pets and Wizards: for the player who own both packs, we could have specific content, like unique pets (owls, ravens, snakes, rats, or even tigers, for instance), the ability to turn our Pets into Familiars (granting them magic powers), or magic pets (like fairies, carnivore sentient venus flytraps, gargoyles and mini-dragons).

Thanks a lot! :D

    "Double, double, toil and trouble

    Fire burning and cauldron bubble"

I really hope EA staff is stirring some magical concoction in its cauldron 😉

Indeed, I really didn't care much about other "classes" besides witches, although I'm having plenty of fun with Vampires. Even so, I'm the kind of guy who LOVES to have options: I prefer to have more so I can choose. Better that than wishing and not having 😉

    Best regards! :D

  • I think it would be amazing if you made a sims where you can run a zoo and have exotic animals.
Also a career of dog breeders or pounds where you can take care of them or adopt
Also sims having super powers maybe and saving people? Just a couple suggestions I thought of

    Hi @fittpaige,

Welcome to Answers HQ! I hope you are having a good time here 🙂

Thanks for sharing your ideas with the community!

I have merged your thread to this one because other Simmers have been discussing pets and magic here and I thought you would like to read their opinions too.

By super powers and save people, you mean like superheroes? (Or SuperSims 😃)  How do you imagine your Sims could help others?

I would like to see sims 4 pets in the next couple months. Suggestions could be different breeds, different colors. And many accessories for the dog, like clothes, colors, beds, bowls, leashes, etc.

  • Hey All!

I am posting here because 1, I agree. I loved all the pets and magic packs from the previous games and I can't wait to see what they do next.

And 2, They need to fix/ do something about the mixology/herb ingredients having to be either in the fridge or your sims personal inventory. None of the herbs can go in the fridge and I hate having to look thru all my personal inventory to find things sometime so I try and keep it very minimal. I remember the Sims 3 had a cabinet that you can store these in and still use them if they were in the house. Right now the only thing you can put the herbs (vamp and alien ingredients too) in is the chests and you cant use them from there.

    Thank!

@CerinityGirl , that is an excellent point!  I too find the inventory a bit cumbersome to deal with at times. but it could be worse.  My main problem is when trying to use certain fish or produce to fertilize plants because not only is every type of produce listed (as it should be), but they are broken-down into levels of quality which makes the list very long! ☹️  This was especially bad when trying to find in that long list the special Growfruit fertilizer during the Growfruit Challenge! I would often spend 20 or so min. just looking for the fertilizer! 😮😞😬  I wish that list was actually more like the inventory in which you see a picture of each item with the amount listed and then you can click on the picture and find the quality of fertilizer that you want to use!  Much easier! ❤️  I hope they change it to that! 😉

  • I'd love pets to be added back,I loved them in the sims 3 and i'd love to see how they could be improved, personally I'd want them to bring pet career's back plus adding some new one's,like firedog/cat,guarddog/cat,huntingdog/cat,showdog/cat,therapydog/cat and perhaps with get to work you could unlock new career's for pets like medicaldog/cat snifferdog/cat and rescuedog/cat plus having more skills for animals and maybe a simpler version of the emotion system for animals, and make puppies and kittens able to climb up the DAMN stairs and for adult animals to be able to pick up puppies or kittens. And with witches perhaps there could also be new magical animals, like griffen's,pheonix's,pegasus and add and improve other ones like dragons.

@animedoglover, A pet phoenix would be fun!  It would never really die, and it would be able to save Sims from fires! :eahigh_file:  I love the idea! 🥳

Also, I miss the horses and unicorns from TS3 as will as the dogs & cats! 🐶🐱❤️

Just want to be helpful in suggesting that Some of the packs/expansions to Sims 4 already has costumes for female witches dress in various color swatches. I agree a wand of some sort would be nice if it were available, as well as a few "powers" similar to what the Vampires are able to gain.

Using imagination, it is possible to dress and house the Sims in a variety of ways and to use available potions (by the in game reward store) to "pretend" a witch or wizard is performing an action. I saw a video where someone was telling a story of witches in the Sims 4, and using their imagination and the way they set up / planned the story and edited their filming, they were able to tell a believable and entertaining story.

I find using costumes and various clothing items in certain color swatches and the surrounding builds decorated in various ways help my characters to seem as if they are in a story or circumstance. Some players do use custom content for this also, but, I haven't yet.

But, it would be fantastic if the Sims were to have more tools at their disposal for story telling and developing our characters in a more believable manner. Thank you for your suggestion.
