The Math ain't mathing

So I have two SIMs that just got engaged.  The female Sims had $401,772 in her household alone, but she owned a house with a back house that she rents out and owns an apartment complex with 10 units that she also rents out.  The Sims she's engaged to owns a loft and had approximately $328,745 in his household alone.  I was trying to get her to move in with her fiance Sim WITHOUT selling her properties, but couldn't figure out how to do it so I just decided to move her in with him anyway.  During the move household screen, I selected "Sell furniture" because she also had no need for that.

The problem is: now that she's moved in with her fiance Sim, their combined household money is now $758,213.  First of all, that's not even the correct math for adding both household funds - it should be $730,517, but I think it's probably just adding in the sale of the furniture, so I'm not going to worry about it.  The bigger issue is that my female Sims doesn't own either of her properties anymore (when I go to the rental properties tab, nothing is there) AND she was never paid for selling them.  When I go back to the apartment complex to buy it, the price is $396,234 and the house w/back house is $32,159.  This is not the first time Sims math has been off, but this is the most extreme.  I can clearly use a cheat code to give her back the money for the price of the properties, but this is clearly a math issue in the game.

Right?

Scandalous sticky-wicket! Those NPC landlords just swooped in and seized their opportunity. I suppose this is because the rental properties belonged to her old household, which no longer exists. Still I feel like they should have done something similar to what the game does with the furniture (which also belongs to a household). They ought to have a check box for her to indicate if she wants to sell her additional properties or transfer ownership to the new household.
