The Top Lots in Newcrest aren't properly touching the road/sidewalk.

This bothers me a lot and I'm thinking of moving all of my stuff over to another neighborhood where the lots are properly touching the road/sidewalk, but I'll share what I am talking about on here since this should be unintended as it is pretty normal for the Sims series to have the lots touching the road/sidewalk because that is how it is done in real life, yes? Anyways, got pictures to share. Only ONE lot is proper, the rest aren't. The proper one is funnily the very top one which is a small 20x15 I believe. The lots aren't their original names so I don't remember the names, so my bad on that part.

This one is the proper one. I took the picture right by the other loot next to it to show a comparison of a lot connected properly to the sidewalk and one that isn't, which is below...

As you can tell, there's a small tiny strip between the actual lot and the side walk in this one, and in every single lot below... This bothers me a lot due to my OCD and I was hoping to turn Newcrest into a rather awesome town of my own instead of replacing a default town, but due to my OCD being triggered by these, ruining the lots very slightly... Ye'h, I am probably gonna clean house in Newcrest and move everything somewhere else. Still, I wanted to report this.

Has anyone notice this in Newcrest or in any other Neighborhood? This is just one example. More below from the same area of Newcrest.

  • @Jusey1 Thank you for sharing this information. I also have OCD (my condolences), am a fussy/micromanaging builder, and build most often in Newcrest. I don't remember seeing this before. Did this just start after today's patch?

Edit... I just went into Newcrest in my game and don't seem to see the same issue. Please see the following screenshots...

In my first screenshot there is terrain paint and debug tiles (which do not go to the edge by default) but the terrain paint goes to the edge for me:

And in in the screenshots below I use a game stone tile and it does go to the edge:

Please note that isn't one of the 20x15 lots. It's the one in this map-view that has the pink trees (Civic Cliffs):

With this in mind, can you please try running a game repair, and make sure your game is up to date:
[ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs).

Also, do you have Mods &/or CC, or have you had them in the past?

  • I said top lots. I checked every lot in Newcrest and only the top lots has the issues. Every other lot seems good. So the bottom lots and side lots are good (you were looking at the side lots).

@Jusey1 I apologize for my misunderstanding, and thank you for clarifying the details. I think I can make a bit of comparative use of my first screenshots, though, as a slight consolation.

I can confirm what you're saying in my game as well. I normally only placement-test on those lots, and do not build there (due to poor lighting for gallery thumbnails), so this is likely why I never noticed. So...

In this screenshot, taken on the lot "Fern Park" in Newcrest, you can see that the terrain paint does not go to the edge:

And in in the screenshots below I use a game stone tile and it does not go to the edge:

Please note that this is referring to the following area in Newcrest:

And as you previously stated, the one lot in this area that does not show the issue is Oak Alcove, which I can confirm in my game also.

Edit: Oops... I highlighted the incorrect lot here originally (sorry, thank you for pointing that out, @Jusey1 ),the one lot in this area that does not show the issue is Comfy Cove", which I can confirm in my game also.

With this in mind, if you would like to create a Bug Report on the issue, then post a reply here to let me know you created it, I can see if this post could be merged into the bug report to provide additional information/confirmation, plus I could "Me Too" the report.

  • @SheriGR I will. I'm gonna do a quick check around to make sure everything is correct. Gonna create a new save and take fresh screenshots of every lot that is bugged with their original name attached. I'm also gonna check all lots in Newcrest to double-check and make sure.
  • @SheriGR Also, Oak Aclove is actually not touching the road's sidewalk but it is touching the sidewalk it is next to. It's Comfy Clubby that is properly on the road's sidewalk.

@Jusey1 You are correct! I'm having a day here, huh? 😬So sorry... I made the correction. Yes, it was Comfy Cove in my game also that did work correctly, and Oak Alcove was the one that was also showing a gap next to the sidewalk. Thank you for that.
