I was just playing with one of my vampires and was trying to make her mesmerize a sim and then drink from him, like Vlad does when he’s breaking in, but all my sim did was stand there until I cancelled it. Is there some kind of bug with the vampires or is it just vlad that has that ability? I have to memorize and then dispel it so I can drink from another sim. Any answers on this question would be greatly appreciated

Are you trying to have your Vampire Sim use the separate ability to Mesmerize a Sim? That puts a Sim into a catatonic state rather than actually allow a Vampire to bite them. Mesmerize is mostly used to get a Sim to leave you alone.
Vlad tends to use "Compel for Deep Drink" as his interaction, especially as he's not shy about being perceived as Evil.

I just assumed vlad was using mesmerize on sims since they get out of bed if they are sleeping and have the same animation as mesmerizing.
I've tried it out with my own Vampires as well; Mesmerize isn't as cracked up as it's made out to be. :-P
That all said, it certainly is useful these days for Vampires who are also Celebrities; Mesmerizing annoying fans, or better yet, the Paparazzi, is quite handy.
