What are your favorite world's and why?

Hey everyone! I'd love to hear what are you favorite worlds and why?

My three fav's are:

Brindleton Bay - this is the type of place that I would love to live in real life. The world to me feels like a nice mix of country and the coast, a place where the locals are really laid back and friendly. Compared to some of the other worlds BB feels like it has some actual history behind it and I like that it has it's own little remote island with a museum. Oh, and the lighthouse!

Sulani - I think EA did such a great job of this world! If I need a break from the other worlds I usually holiday my sims (and myself) here. It's even better with Seasons installed and despite the monsoon season being a little hairy, the thunderstorms are pretty awesome to watch. Mua Pel'am is so stunning and being able to watch the landscape change over time, with the help of your sim working in the conservationist career, I think is very cool.

Windenburg - another world where it just gives off the feels and vibes of having it's own history. It took a while for Windenburg to grow on me but now I absolutely love it. To me this world is truly unique with the snowy mountain tops in the background and it is super pretty in winter too. Ahh, the fresh smell of pine needles! 😉

  • Ooh good question! I'm always obsessed with adding new worlds since I'm a builder.

    So I'd say...

Sulani. I can happily shipwreck a Sim on a deserted island and have them sleep under the stars or I build them a fabulous house on the water. It can challenge my building chops too, trying to balance my modern style with an exterior befitting the style of the region. I find the scuba diving and snorkeling really relaxing and who doesn't love a dolphin! I also enjoy the conservation tasks as it adds something different and I love collecting too.

Henford on Bagley. Despite the bugs and plants that won't grow! It's a lovely world and the Bramblewood particularly is similar to my own part of England, since I'm right next to a pine forest and rural trail. There could be even more wildlife but I love the animal interactions. The llamas are a bit random (despite being the Sims mascot) as we definitely don't have those IRL, horses or goats even would have been much more realistic and it's missing about a million sheep (and where is the cricket?) but it's obviously been lovingly created. I love the ability to create thatched cottages and the farming aspect.

Tartosa. I'd just added this in June and my game broke almost immediately so I hardly got any time to play the world, I just think it's absolutely stunning. I should be mad at it I know but it's just so lovely and it reminds me of holidays in the warmer part of Europe. Even how the light has been captured. So when I can get my game to stop crashing I look forward to getting back to it.

I would have said Brindleton Bay if it wasn't for strays. They ruin it. If there was an option to turn off strays it would be top of my list but it's horrible, I don't know why strays were added, especially in that quantity plus they turn up in the jungle and spoil that too. I added it after I'd lost my beloved dog, ironically to distract me and take my mind off it...bad idea! Snowy Escape has 2 lovely areas and one that lets it down a little for me because of it's layout or it would have been up there. I'd love to add the worlds that come with Vampires and Werewolves but I don't want monsters in my game so I wish they could be optional along with strays.

  • I'm going to share an unpopular opinion, but perhaps this will help someone with interests similar to mine.

    StrangerVille

Yes, you heard me right. StrangerVille. Let me tell you!

Landscapes: A lot of the Sims is rather suburban. StrangerVille, on the other hand, is a combination of rural small town life and majestic wilderness landscapes. I love building on the lots that have broad views opening into large expanses of desert!

Theme: Shameless, kitschy Americana! Retro! Mystery! If you like Route 66 vibes or fancied blow-up aliens in the 90's, you probably dig it!

Architecture: Let's face it... the actual builds are not pretty. They are some of the worst of the whole game. BUT, as a builder, I found that to be a kind of a bonus, because I got to renovate them all! ALSO, while they are not technically the best, the small town mystery story setting is on point, I find travelling between places like the dingy-ish bar, the dated library and [REDACTED] to really enhance the feeling that you are in an episode of a mystery TV show!

Build & Buy: While I could not say nice things about the ready-made builds, I can absolutely endorse the B&B! While this is not a "world" question directly, some of the details are really unique and versatile!

Atmosphere: This world has some really striking and different flavors from the other worlds, from the eerie and unusual "weather phenomenon" to the locals that are not so average either. You hate it or love it, but it sure is different, and at least to me, in a Sims 2 StrangeTown -kind of way.

Gameplay: Without spoiling much about this, to me as a player it was really satisfying to have the world built for a story, kind of like a customizable movie world! And because I really enjoy the world's overall look, themes and special features, it has been a favorite building location even way after completing the storyline!

What @Strangelovekraft  and a lot of you have said.

I ADORE Sulani, and I love Newcrest for filling it up with my own lots and customizing it, and I love Brindleton Bay as just plain pretty, and I love Windenburg because the rural parts and the city center parts both feel completely right! but...

I went to college in a 60,000 person college town in Texas, and Strangerville is straight-up nostalgia for me. <3

I agree about Strangerville. I love Shady Acres with the stunning canyon views and I've added my most blinged up craftsman houses there. I've got a texan cop in a ranch style house and over the road on the bigger lot, an Asian family in a beautiful jade and gold themed mansion with domed roofing and a tiled pool area with a garden full of topiaries. I think it's the perfect setting to go fabulous.

Down at the plaza I added a kitschy roller rink and a 50s style diner and my wiccan has her gift shop there too. Since Glimmerbrook is a bit too small I think it's a good place to extend the magical part of the game and keep things weird in Strangerville.

@simsplayer818 Henford on Bagley I haven't played in yet but it looks so picturesque. You are right about Tartosa too, it is lovely!

@Strangelovekraft StrangerVille, yes! I have enjoyed playing in this world and completing the mystery that came along with it.

@xochiquetzl_xkvn Newcrest is great for customizing because it is so empty! lol

Great reading about your thoughts on your favorite worlds. 🙂
