Why I can't build a pool on a waterfront beach on The Sims 4?

Hi as the title says. I am having this problem (whenever I try to place a pool there it says: "Cannot build below ground level on waterfront lots". I wanted to recreate the Sunset Beach for TS1 exactly as it was on that game (but using one of the Sulani lots as a Vacation Rental). So, how can I otherwise achieve it? While building the whole Vacation Island for TS4?

I am also for some reason having a problem (putting floors outside of the room I am building). I can attach a photo here if you guys want to. I don't receive any Last Exceptions for this or a message (in specific) compared to the first issue. Besides that I don't know why all of the sudden I have a platform (on the room I am building) I tried to delete it or (lower it) but nothing happened.

The loading screen has been slower than usual (it is taking more time than usual for some reason)*. The build and buy mode also has some lag (even when I am not using CC/Mods on this particular lot).

Thanks for all your help as always! Btw, my game is up to date and I always type this from my phone so if might take me up a bit to reply back. 😅😅

  • @Simtasticgallery  Unfortunately, the restriction is exactly as it says: "Cannot build below ground level on waterfront lots"

So no basements and no in-ground pools on a waterfront lot. You could build your pool above ground (make a room for the first “floor” then go up to the second and put a pool in; add stairs and turn the floor by the pool into decking). Or you could build on a non-waterfront lot and use landscaping tools to put a pond in near an in-ground pool.

Gotcha, I thought I could lol

What about the platform issue on that beach (as seen on the picture)? I am wondering about that as well. 🤔

    Thanks. @PipMenace

@Simtasticgallery I’m not entirely sure what platform issue you’re having and don’t see anything wrong in your photo. Beach lots do tend to be on slanted terrain, and if it’s too sloped that may cause issues with placing platforms or floor tiles. You could use terrain tools to flatten the area where you want to build, or use the deck tool with foundation rather than a platform.
