Work progress resetting

Whenever my sim comes home from work the progress stays as complete. Then whenever I start doing that task needed, like mixing drinks the work progress bar resets to the middle as if none was done. I also get random wage increases with it and I don't know whats happening. I've tried fixing the game files with the launcher, i've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've tried the weird method I found of changing the sims work clothes, and I've tried on different save files and it's always the same. It only started happening after I had the newest download.

I've also noticed that in some aspirations that require events, like "Make 3 drinks at a single social event" or "cook 3 gourmet dishes at a single event" will progress when I'm not at or hosting one. Just doing regular day things. I don't know why this is happening but the way I play with is to just cycle through aspirations and careers and get them all completed. I find no joy playing the game when I can't do the progressions for things the right way and I need to know how to fix this. 

The only mods I have are cosmetics, no gameplay mods.
