Advice or Tips needed?!?!?!

Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of the white/off white space between the first floor and the 2nd floor when creating stairs?

I have both the top and bottom floor the same color (those lights are NOT staying, they are just used to - hopefully show what I'm talking about).  In The Sims 3, we could paint them to make it disappear, but I don't have that option with The Sims 4.  So, that being said, does anyone have any tips / tricks, that I am not aware of to get rid of that strip at the bottom of a second floor to make it look more cohesive? Thank you in advance.

    I think in some builds I have been able to use floor trim, wall trim, possibly spandrels 🤔 its kind of hit and miss though depending on build 😅 but I'd probably try that first

    also recently realized that we can scoot basements up if theres lots of that weird white space between first floor and basement but yeah that doesn't really apply to second floors 🤔
