Doctor Career- Lack of co-workers/helpfulness

Agreed.

the game is not programmed the way that NPCs are helping your active sim, rather the opposite, they will be a hindrance

i have my doctor meantime at level 10, it wasn't that hard, little repetitive but pretty straight

for the quickest progress :
* choose genius & maybe neat as traits
* train your sim in logic & handiness as far as possible
* shower energized before work
* if there's time left before work, let your sim ponder moves on the chess board
* while at work let your sim at least once search the Simpedia, it boosts the focused mood
* buy your sim the Morning Sim reward as soon as possible
* care mainly only to complete the tasks given to you by the game & don't care for anything else
* cancel every other interaction which doesn't point towards the accomplishment of the tasks, especially the talking to coworkers interactions
* use the pause key straight after a task is accomplished & head directly for the next task
* if your sim has still some energy left head for some extra hours
* let your sim eat only sandwiches & only if it's really very necessary
* brush teeth at work, it can give your sim the extra positive moodlet needed
* let your sim cook at home only after an inspirational shower, the meals will have a more positive effect & improve the overall mood of your sim

I always have a problem when the Sim in my current household is at the hospital. He gets there and there will be at least 3 to 4 patients ready to be treated. 5 to 8 more patients will come and 3 to 5 will leave while the orderly and nurse, always singular NEVER plural, will chat up one of the patients while I try to cure the other patients which I can do since I set my Sim to be a General Practitioner. I thought if maybe there were a few more Sims in the doctor career some more would show up to work so I made a family with 4 doctors all at various positions but not a SINGLE one showed up to the hospital, in fact the two nurses from a different earlier household that were there last time weren't there this time! It's honestly really frustrating and feels like fake difficulty rather then the "real" difficulty they say they were going for. I was planning on renovating and expanding the hospital since I put quite a few more Sims in the doctor career but now I don't think I'll be doing that or even going with my Sim to the hospital anymore due to how terribly broken this career is. Hopefully they fix this and make the doctors not be lazy bums.

It's working as it should. They didn't make co workers do stuff as they said, because they didn't want to cramp/interfere with you from having to do it. The doctor leaving the hospital is no big deal. You can still gain a level if you skip that process. You Do Not Have To Fill Every Thing on the Check List to get to the top of that career. :)

I know what you mean, there are loads of patients coming in and the staff there don't actually do anything. There's always a huge queue by the desk and the receptionist just sits there looking at them.. I wish they could put up some chairs and get the receptionist tell them to sit down or something. The Doctors don't really do much either and there's more patients than you can actually cure in a day (including some weird ones who think they have every illness imaginable and come back to the hospital everyday for treatment).

There was one Doctor that I thought was kinda useful but then he just randomly died in the hospital of old age and now his urn is just stuck there... Its quite funny because now the staff spend most of their time crying by it instead of working and that seems to make it worse. Don't have the heart to move it though haha. I kinda wish they'd hire more adults than elder NPCs because half of the staff members are elderly now... I'm looking at them and placing bets on who is going to die next!!!

Another thing I wish they would do is make the patients have different outfits. Anybody who has had a day of all child patients will understand that it is super confusing, especially if you've been daydreaming and not bothered to check the name of the Sim you are treating...it gets really crazy when they walk back form the x-ray machine and sit down and you're debating what Sim you were just treating!

I agree! & My sim has been a doctor for awhile now. In order for her to advance up she has to perform 3 surgeries but no patient ever needs surgery. I think they need to fix that as well.

It gets worse as the months and new patches are added. You may have to skip going with your doctor and hopefully the Sim needed to fulfill a particular chore will show up if you stop going with the Sim sometimes. That has been how I get this game to jar itself into 'right' in the past. But this last patch has just ruined the hospital experience again in my game. My game is making Sims get out of bed to receive their shots and going to whatever bed my Sim is standing at when I click this command instead of her walking to their bed. :s

I send my sims at least 20 days by herself to work and she still hasn't been promoted. I hope EA fixed it. I really loved the Doctor career !

I played this career once and never touched it again. Aside from silly tasks like "buy a snack" I couldn't get anything done because of the coworkers. Two people being treated, yet people kept flooding in, with 9 in the waiting room and the receptionist doing nothing. I transfer papers and nothing happens, etc. At least in the other two careers you can see them interacting with stuff.

I have this issue as well. It seems to be near impossible to get anywhere in the active careers unless you go yourself.

Exactly! I love the detective career as well but I have played it so much due to the fact I was hoping my doctor career would get promoted -_-. So I guess I try out the scientist career! I have not really played it that much!
