The Sulani festivals all take place in Ohan'ali Town. There are no notifications, even if you live there. There seems to be one every day and the easiest way to spot them is by watching for the banners and balloons.
Good to know, but what about when we're playing sims who aren't living in/visiting Sulani at the time? The point is to let us know that there's an even going on somewhere else. I do like the idea of adding the festivals to the calendar, if they can do it with the Get Famous events, why not the festivals? - FriendlySimmers4 years agoSeasoned Acei totaly agree i rarely go to festivals in game
- crocobaura4 years agoLegendI love the festivals and my sims love visiting them too. And buying the T-shirts. Wish we had notifications about island living festivals as well, as even though I had a sim live in Sulani she only got to attend one and it was because she stumbled upon it while she was out and about.
I think the frequency of notifications has to do with season length. I used to play with short seasons of 7 days and notifications about festivals, love day, winterfest, etc. seemed to be a little spammy, like every day there was some event to attend. I changed the season length to 28 days and it's more manageable now. - I'm okay with notification but EA should make this optional
- VWoodsong4 years agoSeasoned AceI don't remember if I already posted in this thread, but if I did I hope you'll forgive me. With so many actual annoyances in the game that we can't avoid or work around without cheats or mods, this isn't one of them. If one doesn't wish to attend any given festival for which a notice pops up, it's extremely quick and easy to simply ignore and be done with it. The notices are just that, notices. They don't force you to attend whatever they're announcing, so we don't need a toggle, and those of us who like them or at least don't mind them certainly don't want them removed entirely.
- PurrfectMediocre4 years agoSeasoned AceI actually like the notifications and wish they would add the Sulani ones but with that said, I would prefer if they were on the calendar like a holiday. It would also be cool if we could check on a computer or our phones to see upcoming events (and weather and such)... like we're checking our calendar or news from the phone... and be able to set a reminder if we choose.

That might be very useful to me. A good idea. Otherwise I just cancel the notifications as it doesn't take long to do so. - VWoodsong4 years agoSeasoned AceAdditional or alternative ways of receiving notifications would be great, so long as it doesn't leave out those of us who don't own the necessary packs to use such features. Like me, for one.
