Have I been disappointed more than normal lately yes but that’s been within the last month not the whole year. With that being said we are also barely halfway through 2019.
Strangerville was eh not the worst GP but not the best but I liked it for what it was. The freelance patch was one of my personal favorite patches so that’s a plus for me right there. I also have always wanted a trait randomizer in sims 4 since I play a lot of challenges.
Island living was where my slight ( and I really mean slight because I do enjoy sims 4) disappointment kick in. Overall I really like what IL offers but it does lack in a lot of areas where I wish things were tweaked. The latest patch was also disappointing but not because of anything other than the lack of bug fixes. The game has way too many right now and I’m really hoping we get a lot addressed soon. I very rarely complain about bugs but restaurants being unusable, toddlers still not totally fixed, an entire neighborhood being a borked mess in Sulani. These are things that need to be fixed and addressed ASAP. I’m sad that we got so few things fixed last patch.
As a whole I don’t think 2019 is a downturn for the series. I think the focus is the last month has been disappointing for a lot of of players but the whole year no. I’ve liked more about this year than I haven't. The only thing I was truly disappointed in was the latest patch because that was just not okay (again bug fixes the rebrand wasn’t necessary but doesn’t bug me too much).
But realm of magic is making its way this fall and rumor has it the 8th expansion as well. So I’m not calling 2019 a failure yet. It has a real chance to pick back up again. I’m very excited for witches to return. And I’m still on a whole very much enjoying sims 4.
