- Selling furniture doesn’t delete it - it gets sold as part of the house. It just leaves it there and gives you the total value.
- I've also noticed that some of my lots are now empty of all furniture. This never used to be an issue. I would suggest that something has changed and would love some insight into how to keep move out lots furnished.
- EgonVM8 years agoSeasoned AceYou can go to the Manage Worlds, click on your household, click on three dots and then on the house with an X button. This will evict the household, meaning they'll move out and leave all the furniture there. Your household will be in the Manage Household panel. You can find it in the upper right corner (family with pencil icon). You can move them in somewhere else or delete them. You can also make them unplayed so they can take on the service sims' roles.
Just a tip: After that, go back to the house and remove all the objects that require to be unlocked with careers. If there aren't any, make at least one change (either add or sell furniture. You can sell a furniture and buy it back). Otherwise you can't buy furnished house with the new household. - moppy14w8 years agoSeasoned AceAs far as I’ve seen, @foxx_fennec is right. When moving out (via the phone) and you click the option to Sell Furnitire, it leaves everything there. Note that the default is to Keep Furniture, which packs it all to the moving families inventory (don’t forget they have a family inventory for furniture, not just personal inventories).

So, if you click sell furniture, but you have put some of it in household inventory, it doesn’t sell the part you put in household inventory does it? - LolaLuvsSims8 years agoSeasoned AceNo it doesn't @SheriSim57
- Karababy528 years agoLegendWhen moving a Sim out of their home to a new lot, if you choose "Sell Furniture" everything not in your Sims household inventory will stay behind with the lot. Anything they want to keep and move with them must be put in the household inventory before moving. Choosing "Keep Furniture" puts everything; furniture, appliances, decorations etc. in your Sims household inventory and they'll have it to place in their new home on a new lot.
One VERY important thing you should always remember, upgraded items will revert back to their orginal status if you save a copy of your lot in your library to place on another lot for your Sims to move into. So, if you're moving to another lot, but will be living in a copy of your current house, before you save a copy to your library and move out, put any upgraded items in your household inventory.
Once you place your house/lot on the new lot where they have moved, the upgraded items will be safe and sound in their household inventory to put back in place where they were before. Even if you're moving to a totally new house/lot but want to keep your fully/partially upgraded items so you don't have to do it all over again, put them in your household inventory before moving.
Of course, if you'll be buying brand new furnishings for your new house to upgrade, don't bother putting upgraded items into your household inventory. This only applies if you want to keep and use them in your new house or a copy of your current house.
I hope that all makes sense and I didn't confuse you. o.O
Happy Simming! <3 - SheriSim8 years agoSeasoned AceThank you! @ikiamyetta and @Karababy52 I got a new laptop, couldn’t play on the old one in the last year and a half. I used to just make a copy of the house to replace it, but I like the sell furniture option better.
- When you move a household out of a home, you have to choose sell furniture. If you don't the house you vacated will be empty and your current household will have all of the furnishings from the last house in their inventory.

I took the option "take furniture with you" because I thought otherwise it would be gone, which I just read that it won't and that I should chosen the "sell it" option. I want to get all the furniture back now because it took me about three days to make the house, how can I undo it and make sure the house has its furniture again? its okay if the family that used to live in there has to go back living there
You have to either take a sim there and enter buy mode and completely refurnish it, or you can choose the lot from the manage world option choose build/buy mode there and manually refurnish it that way."MHsimsFan;c-16671669" wrote:

This happens when NPC sims who lived in the house have died. I think because the default for moving is to keep the furnishings and technically when they died, the game moves them out of the house, makes them a ghost and labels them as not currently in the world. So then what ever house they lived in if they were the only sim in residence when they died all the furnishings are deleted.
