They scramble the entire screen the minute I touch a screen. White ziggly lines like something hit by a surge of electricity. I even tried the Microsoft Surface pro - it actually stopped functioning when I tried it in the store. They had me try two other versions including surface pro two - did the same thing. In the store though several other customers said they have the same issues on every device they try. The manager of the store said he is seeing more of this kind of issue and that it is not the devices. He used the same tablet I tried - and it behaved beautifully for him. It was apparently me creating the problem.
Some years ago Princeton University was doing some research into this - "electric people" I understand - but I don't believe they have any real answers. Technically Science still refutes it even when they see it with their own eyes. So it would be nice if Princeton comes up with some answers.
I can’t comment on this because I have never tried a Windows tablet. Only Android and iOS tablets and I clearly prefer iPads because the android tablets still have too little memory for a gamer like me. (I have 128 GB on my iPad.)
The problem that you describe is something that I haven’t ever seen.- I have played Stardew Multiplayer, and it works well for that game. ...But I think Sims 4 it would not work as well. Too many variables and player control/unique styles. Maybe they could do it on one of their mobile games, since those seem more restrictive.
- Apparently modders are one step ahead as usual.

I actually wouldn’t mind some multiplayer functionality. I would still want the option to play in my own world, but it could be fun to collaborate on builds, have two players control sims in the neighbourhood simultaneously, or at least be able to visit your friends’ sims and so on. I would enjoy that. But it seems Sims players in general hate the idea so... I don’t think it’ll ever be a thing
I quite like how its done in Animal Crossing. You send a friend request and are able to have access to that friend's inventory which has items for sale. You can then purchase items you might need to complete a task. You don't even have to visit that friend's town unless you really want to.
I like it in Animal Crossing as well, but only because it’s fun to play minigames together and they designed the game in such a way that you can benefit. Like me warning others they can buy a genuine painting in my town (the guy who sells them comes once a week) or me being able to buy a silver rod or nice shoes (I don’t have a shoe store in my own town yet). I just don’t see how a Sims game could have a similar completion for this though.- davina12217 years agoNew Spectator

I run a super computer -with a big wide screen - I thought gameboys were ridiculous as well- my kids had tons of those games, and their kids now like the mobile games- Not my thing at all. Oh and I have 20-20 vision so not a problem looking at them - I just see no point - never mind none of the kind of control I like. Heck I won't even use a laptop - if that tells you anything. I ran my desktop in a camper for two summers - and there were 2 laptops in the camper - brand new, even 1 gaming laptop - not interested. I like desktops I create myself with my components of choice. I am as choosy about the games I play.
I play my games on my desk computer as well, because I like to actually see easily what I'm doing and have the controls I want. I did play S3 on a laptop when I was pregnant and couch bound for my whole pregnancy and that was a huge help to me for getting through the day not moving. When I get a new gaming computer however, it will be a desk top. My kids also had the Gameboys and I just didn't see it as why play Mario & monkey games on the gameboy when a huge tv screen is available. I did try Sims freeplay and I didn't like the leveling up part because I actually hate it in the Sims games as well. Only played it for around 15mins. I've not tried/considered mobile and I probably won't. The only thing I want a phone game for and my phone has a large screen is to play a random game like blackjack while I'm waiting on whatever and can't be doing what I would like. :) "davina1221;c-16467976" wrote:

If a bigger screen is the only important thing then people play on Xbox or PlayStation instead because their TV usually have a bigger screen than their PC has. So when you choose PC for your games then obviously it isn’t just about the size of the screen.
The Sims Freeplay shouldn’t be compared to the PC game because simmers will always just be disappointed if they expect it to be a free game that they can play all the time instead of buying the PC game.
But the Sims Freeplay is a mobile game that like most other mobile games only is meant to be played in short breaks when you have 5-10 minutes between lessons in school, in a bus, at home before dinner or whatever. I still play the Sims Freeplay. But along with other similar mobile games and the Sims Freeplay isn’t even my preferred game anymore because it is much less interesting when you are at its top level and can’t expand much anymore. So I only play the Sims Freeplay now for its weekly new events.- Sims really isn’t a good multiplayer platform, and I highly doubt any multiplayer functionality will be brought to Sims 4. A senior producer for TSM did an interview back in Feb where she explained the anonymity required for the personal stories players create. That is one of the reasons TSM’s multiplayer is so limited.

EA wanted a MMO originally and it did not workout. Players also expressed dissatisfaction at the idea of a forced online-multiplayer experience since then, so at the very most I could see something ala Sims Mobile multiplayer. However, there is no playing together there. Your interactions with friends aren’t simultaneous, or the same. You can make 2 sims enemies, but your friend could make them lovers. No connection between games other than a sim design, name, and traits. All in all I think Maxis could focus on better things for the PC game. "drake_mccarty;c-16468277" wrote:

Totally agree. I will never buy another Sims online game or even download a free version either. I would have not even ever tried any of the Sims onlines had I not been invited to test the first one. Believe me all 4 were awful. I just will never get people wanting that. But I realize some people do like being connected with friends. Me, well if I want to see my friends - I go see them or invite them here. LOL.
Sims is not a good game for turning into an MMO. Limiting sims pc like that royally stinks in my view.- I think multiplayer Sims would be a game breaker for me, and hopefully most of us. I play enough multiplayer games to know that I don't like playing with other people. 'Nuff said. I already have enough Sims knocking my door down already.. Would the private dwelling trait still work? Haha.

Fences with locked gates work. I use them all the time in past sims games - in Sims 4 my sim keeps the doors locked and ignores anyone who knocks on the door unless she/he invited them over. My experience with past Sims online - nothing works. Other players who are in different time zones just show up when ever they want and wakes the sim up. Another reason online rots.
Chatting on forums is where they need to keep the chat. Not in my game. Online sims they also took your stuff - that cost real money - not sims money and you could not do a thing about it. You had to use more real money to get another one. It rots when it's your only toilet, shower, or bed.
