I decided that the best way to keep my vampire happily and easily fed is to kidnap some sims and keep them prisoner in the basement. It takes a bit of effort to get the prisoners down there, but once they are there, they stay put.Except, it seems, when there is a travel trip off the lot, or when the game is newly loaded. In these cases, when my lot is loaded again the prisoners are either completely gone (in the instance of travel) or leaving (in the instance of loading). As you can see above, one of the prisoners is going up the stairs - she never should have been able to use that door! It is for household members only. Any ideas on how to keep the prisoners down there? It's a pain to get new ones in there, although I have some ideas for making it easier.I just trapped them upstairs so they would have to come back down when I noticed them escaping. I removed the door at the bottom completely and was going to put it back after they came downstairs. Unfortunately, while one prisoner walked through the opening in the wall where the door was, the other walked straight through the wall! Can you just delete the door before you travel and such, and then add it back in when needed, and see if that works?

I haven't played my serial killer save i a long while, but I found the same issue. You have to round em back up and get them back locked up right quick. My serial killer is systematically going through every premade in the game. Last I played, she had the Landgraabs confined. She had to get Nancy as the last one to make sure she got their money when she kills them. But yeah, it's hard to go back to the game the way you left it and have the sims where you left them.

You could try deleting the stairs to trap them.

Can you just delete the door before you travel and such, and then add it back in when needed, and see if that works?

I could, and I tried this... the problem with that is, the vampire can't get in and out. Yes, he can use mist and bat forms to get around... but somehow if there is no door the option is gone to teleport as anything. Which is weird, why would he need doors to teleport. Same for any sim. If you delete the door or stairs before you leave the save, as soon as you go back you have to put them back so you can confine the prisoner again.

Maybe the game thinks that they're stuck because of a glitch, so they get reset and somehow they can walk through walls. This probably doesn't even make sense.

I was just gonna make a forum about this...

Sergio Romeo is a very baaaad man in my save. Well actually he didn't do anything wrong until I forced him to for story purposes, but uh, he needs to stay behind bars for a loooooong time. But that's a *wee* bit hard when I take my sim to the gym and he is just there... In his orange jumpsuit... All "surprise, b"...

I see his friends come in a stream and as much as escaped prisoners would make for a cool storyline... Kinda wanna keep him @ the prison. I don't mind the warden getting out, though. I don't lock him or his dog in, they're super cute. :p And the whole reason I locked Sergio into the prison was so I could pretend he wasn't "on the run" from police anymore bc he kept turning up at sims birthday parties and I got tired of fighting with him but I also couldn't ignore a criminal on the run at a sims party y'know, lol.

Alternately, if the primary purpose of the basement prison it to keep your vampire well fed, have you considered food delivery to your front door? A club your vampire is leader of and that he can summon whenever he wants?

The only fix I've heard of is adding the prisoners to your household so they still stay in the basement (or at least on the lot). Besides that I haven't heard of anything else.
