I don't know who did the tagging for cold weather, but there are SOOO many outfits in the game I've noticed that are hidden from cold weather like many sweaters/jackets. Almost all of the sweaters, hoodies and jackets should be cold weather tagged, but they're not. I wind up just removing the tag so I can have more options, but my townies look the same over and over. Here's some visual examples of cold weather outfits I made that aren't tagged in the game. I seriously didn't want to flood this thread with pictures or anything, so I only took three examples for each gender, but trust me, there's tons more. I agree! It’s a weird omission. Is it like the hot weather clothes in the sense if they are wearing something not from the assigned category they complain of overheating? (That’s silly as well come to think of it)

Removing the tag does not affect the ability to protect them from the weather, at least from my experience. I don't use the tags when dressing my sims for hot or cold weather and it works just fine. Could be a bug.

At first I was like, okay, maybe they only give the cold tag to clothes that look like you can wear them in a blizzard, which most of the depicted outfits don't. But even with that in mind, I've come across some jackets and other tops where I couldn't understand why they weren't included. @Zeldaboy180 Personally I wish all but the first wasn't! The first can be worn with leggings or stockings (as one does). And where I live, with regularly cold and snowy winter, wearing just a hoodie is not a usual thing at all. Not when it's well below freezing. Anyway, you can put your Sims in CAS in any outfit under "Cold" and it will work as a cold outfit. What the tag determines is what Sims generate wearing, and I'd rather that read as outdoor winter wear, personally. Hoodies just don't.

The issue I had was my sim would be wearing shorts and t shirts but not from the hot weather category and she would complain of overheating. I wondered if you put your sim in a coat not from the cold category, do they complain of being cold?

Why are there so many costs and jackets not tagged for cold weather? Strange.

I've also seen people saying to just remove the tag and pick clothes from other categories but I just get them saying they are overheating or freezing unless they are wearing clothes from the hot or cold categories

I didn't know that removing that annoying tag for winter is what is making them freeze. So if I dress my sims up in one of those 5 boring outfits, they will be able to go outside in winter again without dying?

I literally just lost 4 sims in just minutes from freezing to death lol. My poor bachelor sim's new gf froze after joining the polar bear club with him on their date (well that's understandable). So he invited up her family and friends to the park for a funeral. There was a bonfire there to keep warm (you'd think). Well, her brother turned into an icicle while mourning and died! I was like oh helll nooo, everybody go home and get warm!! But my legacy sim's child and cassandra goth wouldn't leave and they also promptly turned into icicles and died!! That is 4 deaths in less than 5 minutes and it was right in front of a bonfire!!

...Not enjoying seasons pack at all because of this.
