Update yesterday

Losing a whole save - I can't imagine how gutted I'd feel. I'm sorry that happened to you. I have a question though, you say you backed up your save, then you should be able to put it back in? It shouldn't be completely lost?

I was legit crying because I did everything to save that file and the update ruined it. I did put back my mod, saves, and tray and my save file wasn't there at all. 😭 I even bought the get together pack.

When you say you backed up the saves, where did you put them?  Did you see your missing save when you went to restore it, or was it already gone?  Do you see the file itself now?  What about backups?  They would have the same internal number as your main save, but with a .verx extension on the end, and they'd be slightly older, from the last few times you saved your progress before the most recent one.

I copied them to my desktop. I run the game on windows, but I followed all the steps after I updated the game. I put the folders back one by one after I updated and repaired the game. I went into play the game and my save file was gone. The only option was to start a new game. I turned off my Google drive, but my 7 generation file was completely gone.

Did you copy them or move them? And when you put them back, did you create a new folder or use the existing one? Did you change anything in the file-name? A game update cannot remove a file that is not in the game folder, it doesn't have access to your desktop, so if the file is on your computer it's not lost - it's a matter of the game for some reason not reading it right.
