What determines if a sim will say yes to drinking from them?

You don't need to raise relationship high. You just need to do some friendly interactions so your vampire has "pleasant talk" with other sim. They almost always accept, even if they are not friends with your sim. But the communication must be friendly, not romantic, not funny. It works only that way.

@SparklePlumley I know they won't die. But I still want to keep my vampires happy :) Although it might be a fun idea to try out the getting enraged thing.

@BabySquare I'm not sure if I have enough points with that vampire, so I'd rather just not give her the weakness. I'm pretty sure I can find her enough weaknesses without that one. Anyway, I'm not planning on making her a Grand Master Vampire, at least for a long time, because she's still very young (just aged her to young adult), and I want her much older (a young adult too, but in my game about 1000 years old) friend to be much stronger than her.

But I might eventually have to get my other vampire the carefree reward, because I just got her the day phobia. I thought it would be very appropriate for a vampire, and I remember reading it would only have an effect outside. But instead, no matter in or out, my vampire is constantly tense during the day. It's just a bit annoying, since while I like her sleeping most of the day, I would like to give her some morning and evening hours to do something inside the house.

I think its random. I have close friends who deny me, total strangers who will give it to me. It doesn't seem to matter if I have a conversation with them or not. Sometimes they will say yes even if I just introduced myself. Perhaps there is a modifying for a higher friendship, but that's about it.

I don't know how old (year) this thread is but I have had nothing but confusion when it comes to this topic.

I have two married vampire sims and both husbands always say to keep those fangs away. I even make them have sex and butter them up real good before asking, nope, nothing, these married male sims are so full of themselves, whenever they say that, I want a divorce for being treated so poorly.

Mainly because the woman is asking after he turned her into a vampire and she doesn't know the ropes yet and has allowed herself to get thirsty.

Then I have a sim the game copied one of those married sims into a NPC so he got married and no longer is a NPC and he allows his newly turned wife blood, even though the other two denied blood access to the women they love days after they turn. They were the ones who turned the woman, one woman never wanted to change so she's really PO'd.

Sorry if I bumped an old thread, I just wanted to add that since it's clearly nothing to do with love or friendship. It's easier just to go find a victim at the gym and take it, the aspiration to allow 2 sims to drink will never happen. Also the two who don't allow are almost top rank and one of the wives is close to top rank too. All bars are maxed out for relationship and friendship.

There's probably a old dead mod out there that fixes this but can EA please fix their game already?

In my experience, they need to at least have had a nice friendly chat before asking to drink from the sim. Even best friends won't accept it otherwise.

Maybe it's random and maybe I've just been observing coincidences, but at this point I just try to at least be nice to the victim before just straight up being like "hey i'm thirsty and wanna suck your plasma, can i do that". Gotta build up that trust first, you know. This usually works for me.

Relationship level+Conversation status
This means that do enough friendly interactions until the conversation status is Plesant Discussion. Then they are more likely to let the vampire bite their wrist. This also means when that sim is a good friends with the vampire, they will immediately let the vampire bite their wrist.

That's what I've always done and I've never gotten a denial! :)

I've had one case recently in which I just decided to try straight up asking the barista to suck her blood plasma, just for fun, surely she wouldn't say yes!

And she said yes. There was no conversation beforehand. Apparently random requests do work sometimes, after all.

Or maybe she was just trying to do her job. :D

I think it’s due to the fact that if you don't have the 'regained humanity' aspiration completed or tamed thirst that they refuse, even with high friendship.

Example being that my vampire’s friend turned lover wouldn't even allow him to drink from her until he regained his humanity (he was a human turned vampire) because vampires without this usually have no control what so ever. (If you want 100 percent of them saying yes, they'll give plasma to keep the bat at bay)

I'm sure you wouldn't want a cranky vampire on your hands (or wrists, in this matter) i also think it depends on the mood... I could be wrong, but i wouldn't want to feed a vampire if i was angry.

"Claim to be Master Vampire" before "Ask permission to drink" seems to work. Almost like they're impressed to be asked for permission from such a prestigious vampire haha
