So i noticed that I cant do much on the new forum it even says a newcomer, does anyone know how to change this, Ive been on the forum for years, I don't understand, does everyone simply start over? Any info would be appreciated thank you

Starting over hurts. I feel the same way. But it is what it is. I still would have preferred a forum without ranks, just new member and member on the old forum was perfect in my opinion. The hardest part of this forum however is not the hierarchy, it's the difficulty to read posts in long threads. I have been skipping the long threads I used to enjoy just because sorting them by newest and continuesly clicking load more is a pain. That's bothering me more than ranks.

New forum. We're all new here... though either something has glitched with my account or they're trying to give us some "credit" for activity over the old forum. 😖

I have the opposite issue. I've been around for about 11 years but was only active on the previous forum for 2-3 years, and had less than 600 posts. And I haven't been super-active here either. Yet somehow I've raced up the 'ranks' really quickly, and it doesn't seem right that I have a higher or even equivalent 'rank' to someone who'd posted thousands of times over many years. I don't like the ranks anyway. Seeing someone's number of posts gives a much better idea of how active they are, and removes the competitive side that has no place here.Also this forum just makes stuff up! I recently got a badge for starting 25 discussions, when I've only ever started 5 or 6 on the previous forum, maybe one on AHQ, and I don't think I've started any here. Where did it get 25 from?!

Yup, we've all become newbies again.
I was on the old forum for 14 years, you should find your old badges have followed you over, but basically, it's just down being pro-active here

Yup. I was wondering about that too. I am not a 'newcomer' - I've been on the forums for over 10 years.

And the way it's set up? I just did a post on that, but it seems you can't select 'new page' or go to the end of a discussion - you have to keep clicking 'show more' and then start from the very top again - what is that going to be like for a post with 2000 responses? 😅

And my profile pic was gone - it was from a screenshot I did many years ago, and I don't have it on my new computer - so I guess it's now gone forever.... 😪

  Once you have a play of the place and get familiar with it, you'll find it's not so bad.
  I didn't like it at all at first ,but I've found my way around now.
  The more you post, the better you'll feel.
  Remember to choose the option to see "newest posts" to make it easier.

    Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. :( I waste too much time clicking through things and working around bugs like the post limit bug and the edit migrated post bug. I don't look forward to navigating topics as they get longer, either.

  I went on the old forum today and signed in. And went on my profile and right clicked on my avatar pic and saved it to my PC.I did have to change it to JPG

At least they've noted that I've been a forum user for 16 years. 23 years if they counted the News forums! I've joined for old times sake but doubt if it's much use to me now. I only looked for tips and answers for bugs anyway.
