Please do a "vanilla" test: Drag the Mods folder to the desktop and rename it, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. This will let you know if a mod or CC item is your cause. If it is, see Mod & CC Issues: START HERE
If it still doesn't work, please run a Game Repair.
