@Lord1988 first try removing your sims computer and replacing it with a new one, sometimes the game is just weird like that from my experience. Also check if your sim is the only one in your household who is unable to do this task.
If that doesn't work out then if you use any mods/CC I would try temporarily removing it and seeing if the issue persists, it could be a side effect of the new update not cooperating with some of your custom content.
And if worst comes to worst make a report to EA about the issue just incase it is something related to the new update. Hope this helps 🙂
