@amymolly   Hi!  The pixelation issues sound like something usually caused by a broken / incompatible mod.  You mentioned that you removed your mods.  Did you also delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game for testing?  This file can carry some effects from mods/CC even when you remove them.  So, it's a good idea to delete that file when testing for mod related issues.

As for tor the plants issue, what season is it in your game?  Many plants, like the green green grass will be a grayish color in Fall and Winter.
