Re: I need help fixing my save!

@KAZOO_QUEEN_2020       Hi! Your best bet is to use the Recover Save feature and try to find a save from before the game removed your CC.  Try these steps.

- Make sure CC and mods are enabled in options.

- From the main menu, click the Load Game button.

- Click the Recover Save button for the save you want to recover.

- From the menu that loads, click the Recover button for the save with a date / time from before the CC was removed.

- The game will redirect to the Load Game menu and there will be a new save with [Recovered] at the end of the name.

- Load that save and check to see if your CC is back.

- If not, follow the above steps to recover an earlier save.

Hopefully one of the five recoverable saves will restore your CC. If not, then unfortunately you will have to add the CC again manually.  :-(
Good luck!  I do hope you're able to recover them!

  • Ok so, I did as you said and I got my puppies back, but the game keeps notifying me with the managing your simoleans from when you first start the game and it keeps giving me 400 hundred simoleans each time too, its really annoying, and cheating. How do I get it to stop doing this.

@Ashlyn96 Then it's time to test with *no* mods to see if it still happens.  Drag the Mods folder to the desktop (or rename the folder), delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.

@Ashlyn96 Only if you save. The instructions there say to exit without saving. You can also copy your whole Saves folder to your desktop as backup in case you think you might accidentally save.

@Ashlyn96 What does which part do?

Re. keeping CC on your Sims, if the CC is not in your Mods folder when you save, then it will stay removed from the sims when you put the CC all back in the folder. If you don't save, then the game will still look to put the CC on when it's back in the folder. If you think you might forget to not save, having a backup copy of your Saves folder means you can get back the version of your game where you didn't accidentally save without CC in the Mods folder.

@Ashlyn96 Are you trying to find out if mods/CC might be the cause of your problem?

    These are the instructions: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/INFO-How-to-Use-Mods-and-CC/m-p/13439356#TestVanilla

    1. Navigate to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4
    2. Drag or move (not copy) the Mods folder to your desktop.
    3. Delete the localthumbcache file.
    4. Start Sims 4 and test what’s needed (including whether you’re asked to test in your previous save or a new one). If it works, guess what? It was your mods/CC!

This is the most basic kind of mod testing, and if you're finding it confusing, using mods/CC might not be for you.
