- Gameplay, aging, Environment, and Pack Settings apparently only appear when mods are disabled which was a bad move from EA. Lots of players use mods on The Sims 4 mainly more fun in general in combination with fixing bugs. Especially if you are someone like me who owns lots of packs that may require mods to fix bugs that EA has refused to fix completely. Do not forget about the annoying autonomous toilet pranking as well from sims with the playful trait that can only be disabled with a mod for players like me who own Discover University.
- So apparently, "restore defaults" does work in having aging up enabled, but I still do not like this. The reason is because if you want aging turned off anytime this basically forces players to turn off mods and that would be very annoying. Important to keep in mind as well that the aging of other sims need to be taken into an account as well that you have no control over. Having to temporarily turn off mods just so that way if you want them to age up or not.
- Those three features are not disabled anymore when I am using mods, but very strange. I messed around with the options menu a number of times with enabling and disabling mods until eventually gameplay, environment, and pack settings finally reappeared again instead of showing up as blank screens that showed hardly anything even with mods being enabled.
- Umm...the game does not lock any options or settings if you use mods and I haven't heard about a mod that would do that. I recommend that you repair the game in Origin or EA App if some options are greyed out.

If I continue having problems with this by seeing it again, I might have to do what you just told me because the gameplay, environment, and pack settings should not be greyed out even with mods being enabled. As mentioned earlier I never noticed this problem before until the August 30th update, but for right now the options menu seems fine. I think that it might actually be a glitch instead of a bug.- Stupid question. You renabled your mods right? When putting mods back in your game after an update, do a couple at a time. You may have a MOD that is causing this problem, and if so, you can narrow it down using the 50/50 method (putting 50% of mods back in, starting the game up, and making sure they all work.)

I think that all of my mods work. Just seems strange to me that I was having problems with gameplay, environment, and pack settings being greyed out (or in other words not visible besides the green sub menu bars but with nothing listed underneath them that appeared "blank" which was a bit unusual for me), but only when the mods were enabled and that it returned back to normal where they eventually reappeared on there own even with mods being enabled despite them being absent previously. It is because of this reasoning I suspect that it might have actually been a glitch caused by the most recent update instead of a bug, or in other words a display issue instead of something that could potentially break gameplay such as a bug. Ironically, these three features from the options menu reappeared on there own even without me having to repair the game or removing some of the mods to find the culprit despite the fact that they should have never greyed out in the first place even with a recent update.- Just to check: those settings are normally disabled when you're on the Main Menu and not in a save game; so you weren't on the main menu when you noticed that? <3

The glitch returned back again even from "saved game", but I am however seeing "recover save" option as well. I do not however know what that means and why this only applies to one save instead of all saves (which I also saved from at least one other saved game as well, but "recover save" option does not appear from there and the adult stage after young adult should not be showing a child icon "glitch" either (but the child icon glitch does not appear when I am not using any mods). Also, I checked out the menu and those three options are greyed out where I cannot select them, but the problem is a glitch involving even from "saved games".
From the manage worlds section it is apparently glitched out as well and not only just when I am playing with my sims. I think that I might have to repair the game in addition to deleting the temporary thumbcache file to see if that resolves my problem, because these are not the only glitches I noticed since the August 30th update. At one point even the werewolf form was glitched out with the fur appearing completely black instead of the fur looking normal at least from my own gallery instead of werewolves that I currently do not own in my own in my gallery currently before they returned back to looking normal after checking out on other werewolves from other players I currently do not own in my gallery (which is very strange) where at least once I was even not given the option to change clothing for werewolves from my gallery. I think that the glitching out is most likely caused by me needing a repair instead of it being one of the mods until the August 30th update, but if I am wrong then maybe it is one of my mods causing the glitches."jonilla1;c-18176797" wrote:

I forgot to mention that I purchased the game on Steam as well. I might have to verify file integrity from Steam as well and not only just repair game on Origin. I also do not have an EA app either. Update: I repaired on Origin and verified all files in addition to deleting the thumbcache icon, but it did not fix the problem and apparently still seeing glitches from "saved games" (which as mentioned earlier I also checked the main menu in addition to saved games) even after me doing this. Maybe it is caused by at least one of the mods conflicting with the update? If it is not one of the specific mods either, then I do now know what else I am supposed to do. I also have a restoro program that is known to fix issues in the past with Sims games where I could try to fix the game from there; although, I would be very surprised if it actually does anything to remove the glitches, but I will let you people know later if it helps resolve the glitch problem. Also, the "repair save" option apparently only appears when I am turning the mods on.
