why won't my sims enter their house??

I have been having this issue for a few days. i've done a lot of research and tried everything possible, but nothing is helping.  i just recently built a brand new house for my sims, and it took me forever.  i moved them in and only two of the sims in the household can freely enter and exit the house. the other two are stuck outside.  they are all adult sims, so it's not a frame issue.  i've tried deleting anything around the door in case they were obstructing them, i've tried deleting the door and replacing it multiple times.  i've tried deleting the stairs and railings and replacing them as well--nothing is working. i even tried resetting the specific sims/debugging them but nothing happened.

i saw someone suggest to take them to a park and bring them back home but that didn't work either. i saw someone else say to invite another family to the house, but that didn't work either.  i've messed around with the height of the foundations and nothing is working. i went to another household to try to get them to go over to the problem house and see if it will work, and when i got to that household THAT HOUSEHOLD COULDN'T ENTER OR EXIT EITHER. this was a household that i played with for a very long time and never had an issue with this. now all of a sudden they can't enter the household.  i am so lost and confused, and i can't play the game anymore which is very infuriating.

can anyone please help me??
