I have the very same problem. I bought it today, three weeks after it was released, and it’s still not fixed?
I own all the packs in game and that’s the very first time I encountered a problem like this.
Way was it put together with Cats and Dogs and not separately for sale? It wasn’t even a proper bundle.
Someone messed it up, and it would be great, if someone else could fix it. It’s just not fair.
I ended up talking to a support assistant from XBox who got me to do a factory reset on my console. It took forever and wiped all my screenshots which wasn’t cool, but the game did work after that. But now I’m having the same problem again after downloading Bowling Night Stuff. Yet again it says installed everywhere, but on the Sims home screen, it says Download to use! Now I am probably going to have to contact XBox again as I can’t remember how to do it all 😫
OK so I just fixed Bowling Night Stuff and it was surprisingly easy. Maybe try doing this before resorting to a factory reset if you’re still having problems with My First Pet Stuff.
1) Quit the game
2) Hold the power button down on your XBox for 10 seconds until it shuts down
3) Remove the power cable from the back of the console. It’s the one on the right.
4) Wait for 2 minutes and then plug it back in.
5) Turn your XBox back on
6) Check in Manage Games and Add ons to make sure the pack is listed as installed
7) Restart the game
Thankfully this worked to fix Bowling Night Stuff for me. It is now listed as Owned rather than Download to use on the home screen. I got the pop up on the home screen introducing Bowling Night Stuff, which didn’t happen before.I have loaded the game and took my family to CAS. They have new clothing items etc for the pack so I’m pretty sure it’s installed properly now. Give it a go and let me know if you can get yours to work that way. If not I’ll explain how to do a factory reset.
I’m so glad it worked for you! I did think it was a bit extreme last time when I was told to do a factory reset! I still think something needs to be done to stop this happening in the first place. I have most packs now apart from about three or four, and I’ve only had this problem since My First Pet Stuff three weeks ago.
I would absolutely love that! I do little farms sometimes but only growing crops. Farm animals would be amazing!
Am having the same problem I bought this yesterday. Says i have the pack but it's coming up in red writing that I don't owe the sims or Cats and dogs which I do. Iv just tried the advise u said about turning it off and taking the power cable out and it's still not working 😭
Try to do it again, but give it more time.
My friend’s pack got fixed by itself overnight, when Xbox was simply off. She had the same problem for two days, and it miraculously disappeared, lol.

If it doesn’t work after a couple of times, I would suggest having a live message chat with XBox support. They guided me through a factory reset. I can’t exactly remember the steps and I wouldn’t want to tell you the wrong thing. It’s very frustrating to have to go this far, but it worked for me.
Let me know if you manage to get it working. It really shouldn’t have to be something that regular players have to fix between them, but here we are! I really hope you get it sorted 😊
