Re: [PS4] Lots and sims not saving to My Library

Another thing that I should add is that saves made to my library used to remain in my library even if I quit the game without saving, which again is why I thought manually saving before exiting wasn't necessary. And again may have something to do with why my library stopped working properly. But beyond that my experience is just like what everyone else is saying: even if I save & quit, once I restart the game those saves will still be gone.

    Would I be right in saying that all of us have one initial corrupt save (blue with an X and unable to delete) and nothing saved properly after?

    I have a lot of corrupt saves can't see a x on them though and i cant delete them some of them show a picture of a premade lot and says it was made by me when i click on it its a blue screen

  • @BTGBB Yes exactly like you describe! I do have one inital corrupted save, one that has a red X & a white background. It appeared right when my library stopped working, & I can't delete it at all. After that I have a bunch of corrupted blue saves, which I can delete but they'll just reappear immediately afterward. And @mumofharry just as you said also, sometimes when I click on a corrupted blue save it sometimes shows up as a premade lot that supposedly "I" made, & it has a date with the year 2014.

    Wow that's weird! When my Library wasn't working before, I didn't get any blue screen or corrupted lots. It just stopped saving all together. I would turn off the console and my saves would all be gone after a certain date when I turned it on again.

    @SimGuruIcarus Isn't the blue screen issue linked to not being able to save to library cos all my lots and sims ive created and not saved properly have turned into blue screens

    Have you been able to reproduce the corrupted blue save issue? Because as mumofharry suggests, it may relate to the issue of the library not saving properly.

    @FinalBossNyuma yes it is a relief cos im sure the reason i can't save has something to do with those corrupt blue screens i have so many and i can't delete them hopefully if they find a solution to them it might solve the save bug (hopefully)

    @SimGuruIcarus hi ive just downloaded the new patch and all blue glitch saves have gone but still unable to save unless I deleted a save is there a limit on library cos in the patch notes it says it was 50 now its been increased i have 60 saves inc pre made lots surely it must be more than this cos pre made lots add up to about 39 of them

    Hi everyone,

    As @mumofharry has already noticed, blue thumbnail issue should now be fixed. 🙂 You might need to delete these items and save them again.

    The team has been looking into your issue and wanted to let you know the following:

    Maxis is aware that some players may have reached the limit of creations they can save to My Library on PlayStation 4. While your creations will show in My Library while the game is running, the limit can cause some of the creations to disappear when the game is restarted. The team is currently working to improve and increase save space in My Library to allow more creations to be saved.


    In the meantime, if you want to save a new creation, you may need to remove a prior creation. Removing a creation that shipped with The Sims 4 on console will not increase the My Library save count available to you.

    (Marking this post as solution for visibility. @AncientHylian, I know this was fixed for you but I would like everyone who gets to this thread to get this information)

  • While firstly I want to make clear that I do indeed appreciate the time & work that was put into today's patch, which appears to rectify a lot of issues (I've not yet been able to play), I have to say that I'm very disappointed in the fact that we were never notified of the save limit to the library or the intention to increase it over time, even when one person in a similar thread outright inquired if there was a limit. For a long time we were given the impression that the cause of our issue was uncertain, when just knowing that little tidbit of information right off the bat could've saved both players & staff alike a lot of time. Us players could have been more aware & proactive to prevent further problems with the library, which in turn would've meant less appeals being made to the devs.

    But I reiterate, thank you very much for continuing to stay in contact with us & keeping us updated on the situation, & also again for putting in the time & work to put out this latest update. This was not meant to be insulting or condescending by any means, but I felt that that needed to be said.
  • Oh, great, I didn't realize there was an update until now! Thank you, @EA_Mai. I actually haven't played the game in a number of weeks, so I wouldn't know if the Library is still working for me or not. But I'll download the update when I can. Thank you again, everyone's been so nice about this 🙂

    Absolutely nothing has been fixed for mine. The incomplete X'd out saves are STILL there. I can't delete them because the items can't be located and any new saves are still appearing incomplete.

    No change whatsoever. Really upset. I love this game and love building but now I can't really do it.
