Build/Buy Mode Freezing Since Latest Update

Question

Since the latest required update my game will completely freeze at random when I enter build mode. This usually happens after I've been in build mode for a couple minutes. The whole screen will completely freeze and I am unable to pull up any menus to close the game or save, causing me to have to force quit my MacBook to fix the situation.

I've played the Sims 4 for years and have run into very few issues this extreme. I don't use any mods but I do have a lot of packs installed. I've already tried removing all CC and repairing the game with no luck.

Any tips or suggestions on how to fix this issue would be very appreciated.

I followed instructions regarding troubleshooting. I renamed my Sims 4 file, started a new clean file, and play tested my game using an old save. The problem is still there. My game will completely freeze usually when I'm moving the camera in build mode (however it has since occurred in live mode as well) and the only way to close the game or do anything is to force shut down my device.

You need to be testing a completely new game, not a clean folder with an old save. Maybe the problem is your save?
