Cant play The Sims 3 on Macbook Air

Question

I’ve been trying to play The Sims 3 on my 2015 macbook air ever since i bought my macbook. I downloaded it through Origin and it seems to download fine. But when i click on The Sims 3 to open it, a picture of the sims pops up and says an error occurred and the game can’t be opened. Ive searched and searched for answers but nothing seems to work! If anyone as any idea please let me know.
