Certain parts of screen (mostly buttons) black and unreadable

About a week ago my sims started having a black background screen (can still see the plumbob and the words underneath) when loading (not really an issue). The main issue making the game hard to play is that certain buttons (like houses, apartments, neighbourhood stories buttons etc) are completely black. I've completely uninstalled Origin and the Sims 4 multiple times, i've moved the sims folder out of my finder section to make a new fresh one, i have removed all saves and mods and have repaired the game multiple times on Origin but nothing works. please help
