Combining games? (Odd situation)

My wife has been playing the sims for many years and her Mac (MacA) crashed last week. While we had a backup of her mac we had to wait for it to be repaired. Meanwhile she logged into her EA account and installed the game on my laptop (MacB), but was surprised to find she had "worlds" available on her account that were from several years ago. She really enjoyed having these characters back and being able to play there. On my laptop she did not even have a local user account so there was no "saved" data in her account, and she had to reinstall all of the Sims4 games and packs the worlds she found weren't local.

She has her new laptop back (MacA), and we've restored it via TimeMachine so it is just like before, but she would love to be able to "move" the worlds from the other laptop (MacB) onto her laptop and be able to play them all.

I've seen some similar threads, but I'd really like to help her be able to play both of these setups without having to switch laptops. Thanks!

When you mention "worlds" do you mean saves and the Lots and Households she has created? Or do you mean worlds such as Willow Creek, San Myshuno, Nordhaven, San Sequoia etc? Worlds come with various packs and would indicate that some packs were installed on your Mac that weren't installed on hers.

The saved user data such as saves etc. would have been stored by the game in your Documents folder then in the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder.

The Sims 4 folder, as referenced above, contains all the user data that makes the game unique to the player. The game installation is set in EA App and is the base game and purchased Packs (DLC), the default install location is in the system Applications folder. The game installation is not to be confused with the user data TS4 folder. Purchased packs are tied to the EA account and not the local machine.

Ok, I'll be honest I'm not super familiar with the game since I do not play, but she is an avid player.

Ok, now I think we're getting somewhere... While the game was not installed on my laptop, she likely has a folder like this in her iCloud account which would have been linked when she created her local user account on the laptop (MacB). On her computer (MacA) she likely has a "local" vs iCloud folder for her games...

So now the question would be, is there a way to merge these two and allow her to play them all from a single computer (MacA)?

Thank you for your time and patience as this is not my area of expertise and I'm just trying to help her out! Thanks!

If she played the game on your laptop then it would have been installed on your laptop, there is no cloud based way to play the game. The game is downloaded and installed through EA App which would also have been installed on your laptop as it is required to launch the game for verification and entitlement reasons.

The game typically does not play well with iCloud Drive syncing the local Documents folder in the cloud and often causes more problems, especially if Optimise Mac Storage is enabled and storage is getting full. Simply make sure the saves folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 on her Mac contains all the saves she wants to play. This means you may need to copy saves over from the same location on your Mac to hers, either using a memory stick or cloud storage, or Airdrop. Be aware that you cannot have save files with the same name in the same folder so, for example, if she has a save file named Slot_00000003.save in her Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves folder, and you want to copy a save file with the same name from the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves folder from your Mac, you will need to rename it or, the method I prefer, use save as.. in-game on your Mac so it has a different file name and then copy it over, or do that on her Mac before copying over from yours. If you need further help understanding save files read through Crin's guide here - https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/save-games/ it's the same for Mac and Windows.
