External SSD performance

Hello, What is EA's requirements for external hard drive scenarios? On a Mac, does APFS work for the installation? What is the recommended connection, USB 3.0? How much of a performance hit are u...

    I don't think there are any stated requirements for installing on an external drive, at least not any I've found.

    Yes, APFS works for the installation.

    The faster possible connection that you can buy. And don't use an adapter.

    No performance hit if the drive and connection are fast enough. So long as you use Finder to load the contents of the drive before opening Origin and loading the game it works seamlessly. At least, it always has for me on multiple installations.

    Installing a full version of macOS on a fast external and starting up your Mac from that drive would be the ideal solution.
