Frozen/Perpetual Save Mode Sims 4

My game has been glitching since the latest update/patch. I use mods. I have NO cc. I have tried removing the mods folder to see if that was the problem. It's not. The game will freeze. I go to save and it is perpetually saving. I am on a Mac. I have rebooted my computer, repaired the game. I have made sure EVERYTHING is updated. Nothing works.

    Can you please move the whole Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts onto your Desktop. Now launch the game (it will be like new again) play for a bit then try and save - does it work?
