Glitchy Sim shadows on macOS

I am also having the sam issue with my game. I play on a macOS Monterey. It started to happen once i moved into a new house im one of my saves, now it happens in all my saves. I tried to repair the game, removed mods, and did some searching on it i still have not fixed it. any help?  I have Seasons, Booming rooms, and book nook. (sorry the photos small, i had to crop it so the file would attach)

Edit - split from old thread, edited title (Bluebellflora)

  • I turned on post processing. Sometimes shadows do disappear when in hover over things but that’s way Easter to live with then square shadows!

Which exact model Mac mini? Apple > About this Mac has the relevant processor and memory info.

It may be that the graphics chip can’t render the shadows properly. Probably because you have the settings on low so the game deprioritises graphics over performance.
  • it says macOS Monterey mac mini (late 2014) graphics intel iris 1536 MB. there are other sections there but i dont think they matter

I am also having the same problem after the last patch. The only solution i could find to have a clear game(without the black shade) is to tick Post processing Effects and Uncrompressed Sim Texture. Before i never used Post Processing Effects but honestly, using both of them game doesn't look that clear anymore. I really hope Maxis team will find a solution for us as well, especially now when the game looks bright and clear than ever.
