Help Deciding What to Do.
Currently I have the below laptop in which I have all packs installed. My game runs fine with some lag here and there.
My my boyfriend just purchased an Acer gaming laptop which I helped set up and set up his game as well. His laptop of course runs amazingly with his 1080HD 🙄 This has me look more into my laptop and wanting to purchase something better so my game runs immaculately.
I should mention I also updated my hard drive to an SSD of 500gb (I think that’s what it is).
Im torn between the options below:
1) keeping what I have
2) buying a iMac desktop
3) looking into a windows PC
im user to Mac and have an Apple Watch and iPhone so the logical choice would be to keep my laptop or buy the iMac. However, in easing online I found out that Apple doesn’t really make gaming laptops so when I’m looking at my buying options I don’t know if any of the graphic cards/chips/hardware are good enough or comparable to what I already have.
When end thinking of going to windows I struggle with the long start up process, pop ups, running background apps and again whether the graphics card/chip/hardware are comparable to what I already have without spending a fortune (over $1500) for a gaming laptop.
I prefer laptops bc We don’t have anywhere to setup a desktop and I take my game on the road when we go on vacation and are in the hotel for the evening. Any help in making a decision is greatly appreciated.
Im a register dental hygienist and this decision is like standing in the mouthwash rinse isle for 40 minutes trying to decide with is better 😩
@candiecoatediv You might need to wipe the drive completely and start over. If the other 200 GB or so is formatted for macOS, Windows will probably not know what to do with it, or maybe not even "see" it. Try this approach:
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-format-new-hard-drive-windows-10
If you can't format the drive, or if it doesn't help, pick "erase volume" first, then format. You'll want to use the NTFS format, which is the default for Windows 10.
I don't think it's necessary to disable OneDrive permanently, and uninstalling it is a bit of extra work. If it's not opening on startup, you can open it manually if and when you want, and ignore it the rest of the time. Just make sure to check that it's still disabled on startup if and when you update Windows 10. A regular patch shouldn't change anything, but a feature update (the ones that get released every six months or so) might restore default settings.
