This seems to be an emerging issue on Macs. I have moved your thread to this one so all information provided can be consolidated. Please can you provide the following information and try the suggestions:
Firstly, please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-S
Can you try the following, testing to see if the step works before moving onto the next one:
- Download and use the Origin reset tool from here - http://help.ea.com/uk/article/how-to-reset-origin-
on-mac/ - Launching the game from within your Applications folder instead of through Origin
- Disable your wifi/wired connection so your Mac is not connected to the internet at all then try launching from the App in your Applications folder
- With Origin open click on Origin in the menu bar, then Preferences then Advanced. Scroll down and check the box to enable Safe Mode Downloading. Leave this enabled to move onto the next step.
- Manually uninstall the EP/SP that is showing the 100% progress bar then try downloading it again. Manual uninstall instructions here - https://bluebellflora.com/manually-uninstalling-an

If one of the steps solves the issue please reply back so we can help others 🙂
