issues with time and long saves

Is it just me, or is anyone else having issues with the in game time and long saves? I don’t use any mods to speed up time, but the in-game clock can stop for a long period, sometimes 10 to 20 minutes, which forces me to quit the game manually. When I go to the map, the saving process takes a very long time, and I have to force quit again. When I try to exit the game, it’s also impossible to save because the process takes forever. I can’t play for more than 10 minutes before time stops, it’s practically impossible to enjoy the game. It’s really frustrating. I’m using a Mac.

Thanks. When you say your folder is clean are you saying you have no previous data in the folder and that you set up a new save and still having the issue? If so I would hazard a guess you have two potential issues happening 1) your Mac is simply struggling with the increased resources needed for the game due primarily to the low spec Intel CPU and 2) you have other resource hungry apps and background processes running on your Mac using precious resources the game needs to properly function.

If in fact you have a lot of CC, Mods, Tray items, screenshots and saves that you have copied into the new clean folder that will most likely be the culprit.

The folder is clean. My Mac is a MacBook Pro 2019 with a 1.4 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i5, 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 RAM, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB, running macOS 15.7.1, and I have 276 GB free out of 500 GB.

Can you be more specific please. All the info from About This Mac but not the serial number. What happened when you tried a clean TS4 folder?

Which exact model Mac and macOS dare you using? Apple > About This Mac.

Start a new save in a clean TS4 folder and see if it still happens -  https://forums.ea.com/discussions/the-sims-4-technical-issues-mac-en/instructions-how-to-troubleshoot-and-test-a-broken-game/11864548
