My game keeps deleting my progress

I switched to a new Mac recently, logged in with my old EA account, and redownloaded origin and the sims, but once I opened the game all my previous saves had gone missing. I tried to fix it by doing what the ea help website suggested with changing around the save files under documents > electronic arts > the sims 4 > saves but it didn't work. So I decided to just start new saves but they would also disappear after a day or so.

The files still seem to be under the saves but they don't appear in the game itself. I also keep getting this message about my video card being unrecognized, and that might have something to do with it? I'm not sure though.

You've managed to duplicate a ton of save files. The game will only load saves that end in .save directly after eight numbers/letters, like this:

    Slot_00000002.save

Yours have extra numbers where you have merged and copied files, like this:

    Slot_00000002 2.save

Remove the spaces and additional numbers and the saves will load.

The files ending .ver1 are back up files.

Screenshots are really helpful - thanks! Next time you post Finder screenshots it's much easier to read if they are in list order please, preferably with the file path showing at the bottom of the Finder window 🙂

Hi, Bluebellflora. Thank you so much! I did as you suggested and I have all my save files back, even the ones from when I played with my old MacBook. Again, thank you!
