Ok. And did you install/update anything, as per my question in my previous post?
Can you go into Documents > Electronic Arts and drag the Sims 4 folder to your desktop. Now try launching the game again.
i did this and it deleted all of my families in the game, is there any chance of me reinstalling them, i would rather have them back and not play it then start the game from the beginning
It hasn't deleted your saves or any user data. The game has simply recreated the Sims 4 folder. Your saves etc. are in the folder you dragged to your desktop. It's the first troubleshooting step you should try if your game won't open. If your game loads after moving the folder it means the issue is somewhere in your user data - corrupt save/incompatible CC or Mods etc.
I did everything you said and when i press sims it goes straight to orgin
my game loads now but I have 0 cc, and how do I access the sims folder that you said to drag out??

Replace the newly created files in the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder with the ones you moved out. Be careful though, if your game didn't work with the original files then the problem lies in the files/folders so move them in individually, checking to see if your game works after each batch.
Hey! I did what you said and it worked, so now I know it's something to do with my CC stuff. Is there a way to simplify which mods are incompatible? Or do I need to go through each one by one to check? I'm so mad, lol. I literally spent hours downloading content to find out my game won't work.
I did as you said and I then moved the folder from the desktop back into the Electronic arts folder thinking it'd make a change but it didn't. Instead, now it's empty completely and all my CC is gone from both the desktop folder and the folder that got remade. I'm losing my sh** right now. Please tell me how to fix this. I can't go through my downloads, it's very messy.

I’ve tried everything you’ve said and did a clean boot restart, but nothing is working. It just continues to open origins. Do you have anything else I can do?
Every time I go to open the game it sends me to origins. It won’t let me play the game. I’ve been looking up different ways to make it work but nothing is working. At the moment I’m getting all my cc out of the mods folder. What else should I do?
I moved my Sims 4 folder onto my desktop, and sims is working but everything is gone. How do I get everything back? I tried moving my folder back to my ea folder and reopened it, but now when I open Sims it is like I just downloaded it.
THANK YOU!! I went to a wevsite on how to fix this and it said to do everything that wasnt this so i wasted like 6 hours doing nothing to fix the sims. all i needed to do was move a few * mods! 🤦♂️

The exact same thing happened to me today. I went cc shopping and got like 20 new pieces of furniture, I put it into the mods folder and went to launch sims 4 but whenever I clicked on it it would take me to the origin menu, then I clicked on sims 4 from there and it processed for like 5 seconds then took me straight back to the origin menu. I tried updating and repairing (as you suggested) and nothing worked. I even took out all the cc that I had just placed in my mods folder to see if that would work, because the game was working perfectly fine before I had put those mods in. It still didn't work. I'm literally terrified that I might lose everything and all my saves and not be able to get it to work ever again. I don't really understand what I'm supposed to do for re-launching because it seemed to work for some other people but I don't know how to do that and I would literally cry forever if I lost my saves and families. Is there anything to do or a step by step to help me re-launch? If you see this, thank you so much for your time.
