@RoxyRox247 I am having the same issues, plus my sims 4 game is on another drive it was working fine yesterday and now today it is not.

This worked for me:
take the sims folder out of electronic arts and then restart your computer. Then start the game and it will open in fullscreen mode and it only seems to work in fullscreen. And you can drag any of your mods to the new sims folder. Make sure you don't try to switch to windowed mode or it will keep crashing as it only seems to work with fullscreen.

If you want to just reset the graphics options to default you can trash the Options.ini file instead of a whole new folder.
