my sims wont exit

my sims game will not exit, not even with command q.

    I'm sure you've probably fixed it by now but was your cursor the spinning beachball? You should be able to Force Quit the game when it hangs by holding down the CMD key and pressing the Tab key, cycle through the open Apps to Finder and then click on the Apple in the menu bar and Force Quit.
