origin showing sims 3 as installed when it's not [Mac]

This is something I am really getting angry about and have been looking at what is wrong. I've uninstalled the sims 3 and every expansion and cleared every last bit of data relating to it off my macbook and I want to re-install it all but origin says the base game and expansion packs are installed and ready to play. I have been trying to contact EA about this but all that happens is they link me to the forums and phone numbers when I clearly want to talk direct to them online!

I'm not happy about this and I want answers! It's not only this but also the sims 4 too. And I can't seem to do anything! Help me!

That's what the problem is. I have been in contact with an adviser who asked to use a registry cleaner like CC Cleaner to uninstall Origin and it was before I did this I found registry files related to the sims 3 were installed and still on my MAC that were not originally picked up. I'm happy to say that I deleted these files and have now got back to normal.

So Origin is stating that Sims 3 and Sims 4 are installed on your Mac when they aren't?

    Sims 3:

Have you deleted every single residual file for Sims 3? It has to be uninstalled manually after using the Uninstaller as a lot of files are left behind.

    Sims 4:

Can you please right click on the Sims 4 in your Origin Games Library and select Uninstall. Next, run the Origin reset tool then launch Origin and attempt to re-install Sims 4.

Registry type cleaners should be avoided as they quite often delete files they shouldn't and quite often miss ones, as in your case. Be very careful when using them 🙂
