Re: Can I play the sims with no lag on my iMac if I upgrade it?
@regalsims
The graphics card cannot be updated. If your Mac is a 27" iMac you can upgrade the RAM to 64 GB. If you have the 21", which I think you do, then the RAM is not upgradeable.
Your Mac has an integrated Intel graphics chip which is most likely struggling to play the game with high graphics, especially with a lot of CC.
- Lower your in-game graphics settings
- Disable edge smoothing
- Make sure the CC you use is low poly
- Do not have anything else running on your Mac when you play
- Trash the localthumbcache.package file in your Sims 4 folder
- Disable Origin in-game
