What is the file path location of the saves folder in that screenshot?
Why do you have Mods in the saves folder? The path is
Electronic Arts> The Sims 4> saves
The actual Basemental game mod is in the mods folder, that generated by itself into the saves folder. The content inside says basemental-settings-craftbeer.json. does that as well, but I took it out of my game.
Thanks. Let's do a really thorough search.
Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:
find / -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null
After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.
/Library/Application Support/Origin/LocalContent/The Sims 4

That is still searching, you need to wait a while for all the results to come back. Once it's done you will get the command prompt line again. Last login: Wed Jun 16 20:39:48 on ttys000

Thanks. This:
/System/Volumes/Data/Users/deunnanorman/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4
is where the saves should be to load. You also have a Sims 4 folder here which may contain them:
/System/Volumes/Data/Volumes/Macintosh HD - Data 1/Users/deunnanorman/iCloud Drive (Archive)/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4
What is the Update drive in Finder? Have you partitioned the drive?
I'm happy to test one of your saves if you want to upload one to a shared drive and PM me the link.
Also, really need you to try a new clean TS4 folder, it's the simplest troubleshooting step.
Im not sure what the update folder is. It generated when I updated from Catalina to Big Sur. I was able to get rid of it, but it came back in the most recent software update. When I tried to eject it, It says it can't, because 1 or more program is using it.
Yeah, looks like a partition of your internal drive. If you look in Disk Utility it should give you more info. Mine looks like this (iMac upgraded from Catalina to Big Sur too):
In Finder I don't have an Update partition, just the usual Macintosh HD and the Boot Camp partition:
Anyway, I don't think it's related, I'm just curious about that Update partition 🙂 Thanks for the save, I'll try it later.
I managed to load your game fine after renaming it. I completely missed it in your screenshot - you have your saves named incorrectly, maybe because your Mac has saved duplicates and added a number to the end. The saves should be Slot_00000002.save with no space and number after the initial Slot_00000002. Same for the Slot_00000003.save and Slot_00000004.save. The ones ending in ver are backups. To give you an example, this is my saves folder:
Rename your saves and they should be good to load.
(Thanks to @crinrict, the saves queen 🙂 )
Thank you, recovered my save!!
I’ve been struggling with this aswell, would I be able to upload my file and you take a look at it? I’m a content creator and I lost everything!! The files are still there but because I disconnected my iCloud, my game is no longer able to read my saves and I’m getting depressed about it. Help PLEASE 😭
May not need to, can you follow the instructions in my post here and post the results? https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Saves-Disappeared/m-p/10438830#M46758
