Re: sims 4 save data and mods missing

@edieccook

You need to move all your data from the Sims 4 folder to the Sims 4 Legacy Edition folder in the Electronic Arts folder.

    @Bluebellflora I took your advice and tried that but in the process of moving my stuff over, I got a pop up asking whether I want to 'duplicate' 'replace' or 'stop' some files and I clicked stop because I didn't know what to do, all my data copied over and I'm unsure whether I deleted some new important files because my game still has no data in it.

    Hmm, so by the sounds of it your data is already there. Could you click on the Sims 4 Legacy Edition once so it's highlighted then go to File > Get Info in the menu bar. In the little pop-up window look under the General section and you will see the file path of that folder next to Where. Please could you copy and paste it here. Also do the same for the Sims 4 folder.

    @Bluebellflora It's the same for both of them: /Users/*username*/Desktop/Electronic Arts
    Thank you so much for trying to help me btw ๐Ÿ™‚
    (*I didn't put my actual computer username in, I hope that doesn't make any difference!)

    Thanks.

    The problem is your Electronic Arts folder being on the Desktop. Put it in Users > [yourusername] > Documents and you should be good to go ๐Ÿ™‚

    @Bluebellflora I'm sorry, but I must have done something else wrong as it's still not showing my save data in the game. Another thing I've noticed is that each time I load the game, the audio settings reset (volume goes back to full), even though I've tried to make them permanent. I'm really sorry, thank you for all of your help so far!!

    Hmm. And inside the Sims 4 Legacy Edition folder is your saves folder from the Sims 4 folder in the same location?

    @Bluebellflora Yeah, I moved all of my sims 4 folder data over to the new folder and then deleted the empty folder, but when I opened the game and exited it again, a new one had been created with everything original (I believe) in it apart from my save data, which is still in my legacy folder...

    @edieccook

    Thatโ€™s normal, the game will create a new folder if there isnโ€™t one there. Are you sure your saves are in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 Legacy Edition > saves?

    @Bluebellflora
    Ah, ok, thank you! And I am almost definitely sure it is in the right place, but just to make sure I'm not missing out on some sort of detail, I have attached a screenshot of the info of my saves folder and what it actually looks like, hopefully this can help solve what's wrong! Thank you again for helping me

    Donโ€™t thank me yet, we need to get you back in your game first ๐Ÿ™‚

    Could you go into Documents > Electronic Arts and move the Sims 4 Legacy Edition folder to your desktop then relaunch the game. Set up a household then save your game and quit. Go back into Documents > Electronic Arts and a new Sims 4 Legacy a Edition folder should have been created. Open it and then open the saves folder - are there new saves in there?
